Micro polymer clay resin ocean angled shot

Description

As before this is an angled shot of the first micro ocean model set of 40 different designs I will be creating, hope you enjoy.

Micro Oceans Prototype is the first test in a range of ocean and water sculptures captured in resin.

These range from cryptozoology, fish, search and rescue, salvage, discovery and pretty much anything you could imagine our blue planet has to offer.

Being a prototype I spent less time on the components and had a few issues that future models will be free from. I am quite pleased at its overall look though. There is a little captain yet to attatch to the boat and a man overboard swiming for a life ring.

The model is approx 13cm long by 7cm deep

Please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Thanks Chief, I will be selling them but I want them to be 100% quality and the sculpts perfect. I had loads of issues creating a realistic surface without the boats etc lifting when I embed them. Ideally I want to be able to see from all angles including looking from below at the ship on the surface but the resin acts as a lens so everything looks weird from below. Also layering the resin and painting each layer looks great from the front but according to the manufacturer of the various resins I use its hard not to get the separation lines from the sides and surface at these thicknesses. One alternative is to carefully embed as it dries but this seriously limits the designs and I have a few other plans to try. A third problem was preventing clays shrinkage as the resin becomes extremely hot and has low shrink where as the clay does not.

The next few designs are hopefully of a different magnitude though with lots of things fixed.
